The Berber women of Morocco have used organic argan oil to enhance their skin and hair for 100s of years, but more recently it’s found its place as a powerful beauty multi-tasker touted by the Hollywood elite, naturopaths, healthy living gurus and just about everyone else that’s given it a try.
What makes Argan Oil so amazing?
Argan oil is a vegan, plant-based moisturizer that is richer in Vitamin E than olive oil and chock full of essential fatty acids which makes it one of Mother Nature’s most effective moisturizers for skin and hair. The oil’s nourishing qualities are terrific for perking up tired tresses by adding luster, shine, taming frizz and correcting split ends. Don’t be afraid to use this oil as a facial moisturizer…it’s incredibly lightweight and absorbs into the skin easily which leaves you with a dewy glow without being greasy.
Argon Oil is a true multi-tasker. Here are a few of its many wonderful uses:
Facial Moisturizer
I know I know. The thought of applying pure oil to your face scares most people. Trust me…just try it. Again, less is more. Apply one to two drops to damp hands then massage into face, neck and chest. Allow to absorb for two minutes before applying makeup. Argan Oil will leave your skin smooth, clear and radiant with that enviable youthful glow. Argan Oil is considered a “dry oil” so it will not leave your skin greasy.
Body Moisturizer
Argan Oil can be used as a full body moisturizer in place of your regular lotion or cream. The easiest way to apply is while you are still damp from the shower. Add 5 to 10 drops to damp hands and massage over entire body. You can also add 10 drops to bath water for the softest, most touchable, dewy body skin you’ve had since you were a baby.
Hair Conditioner
Argan Oil is one of the simplest and most effective deep conditioning treatments for your hair. It has a faint but pleasant (think exotic) scent. Work about a tablespoon of Argan Oil through damp hair. Wrap head in a warm towel and wait about 20 minutes. Then simply shampoo and condition as usual.
Increase Shine and Tame Frizz
Dispense a tiny amount (one to two drops at most) into palm of hand. Rub hands together and then work hands through ends of hair to about mid shaft. Blow dry/style as usual. One drop can also be worked through hair after blow drying in the same manner.
Lip Scrub
Simply mix a few drops of Argan Oil with some organic brown sugar and rub gently over lips with fingers in circular motions. Then rinse (or lick your lips…it tastes amazing!).
Cuticles
Argan Oil is a super effective moisturizer that softens and heals cracked or dry cuticles.
Scalp
There are many shampoos and conditioners that contain Argan Oil on the market today but if you love your current shampoo and you still want to enjoy its benefits for your scalp, simply add a drop of the oil to your shampoo and/or conditioner each time you wash your hair. (Don’t go crazy here – one drop is plenty to moisturize the scalp. Too much and you’re likely to look a bit greasy.)
Be sure you choose argan oil that is 100% pure (no fillers or preservatives), certified organic, vegan and cold pressed for the purest product and best results.
